Leica counted down the days to Christmas in style, delivering daily videos that showcase "the most special things" in the company's archives. These Are the Winners of the Huge, Annual $67,500 Photography Grant

The winners of the annual W. Eugene Smith Grant in Humanistic Photography -- one of the largest grants in support of the photographic arts that opened for entries in July -- have been announced and the winner is Palestinian-American Maen Hammad, for his project Amira’s Castle, an ongoing exploration of his grandparents’ lives and his own documentation of the Palestinian present.

Rick Smolan Wins $100,000 for HIPA’s 2025 Photography Appreciation Award

HIPA, the world's most lucrative photo contest awarding $1 million in total prizes annually, announced its 2025 winners on November 11 in Dubai, the popular business and tourist destination in the United Arab Emirates. The Photo Appreciation Award of $100,000 went to photographer, film producer, and best-selling author with five million books in print, Rick Smolan.

The window to enter the prestigious Sony World Photography Awards 2026 is quickly closing, and photographers have about a month left to enter this year's competition. Entries remain open for the Professional, Open, and Youth competitions until early January, and there are some fantastic prizes up for grabs. The Sony World Photography Awards have shared 21 entries from the upcoming competition to inspire other photographers to join the competition.

This Photographer Built an Awesome Medium-Format Rangefinder, and So Can You

Photographer Albert Cornelissen wanted a medium-format rangefinder camera that could utilize great glass and wouldn't break the bank. The second restriction meant the legendary Mamiya 7 and Fujifilm GF670 cameras were out of the question, so Cornelissen took matters into his own hands and built his dream camera: The MRF2.
